TERMS OF SERVICE POLICY












Welcome to 618Connect. We hope that your connection to the World Wide Web will be pleasant and rewarding.

As a 618Connect Internet Account holder, you are expected to abide by certain obligations described herein. 618Connect reserves the right to revise the Terms of Use Policy at any time. The current Terms of Use Policy is as follows:

Before you use any dial-up number for Internet access, you must contact your local telephone service provider to verify if the number in question wouldbe a toll-charge call for you.

You can reach your local operator by dialing "0". Let the operator know the telephone number that you are dialing from and the number that you are dialing to. The operator will then verify whether or not the number is atoll-charge call for you.

It is your sole responsibility to verify this information. We are not responsible for any charges you may incur.

The Internet offers unlimited global access to information. However, not all sources on the Internet provide information that is accurate, complete, current or legal. 618Connect is unable to monitor or control the content of the materials on the Internet which change rapidly and unpredictably. Parents and guardians of children under 18 are responsible for their children's use of the Internet.

Users will not engage in any illegal or legally questionable activities via their 618Connect Internet Account, including (but not restricted to) cracking, hacking, software piracy, chain letters, spamming, bulk, harassing or vulgar e-mail, etc. Any activities that overtax system resources are prohibited.

Users understand that they must not share their password or account with others. If a user loses/forgets their password, they agree to notifiy 618Connect by calling 800-497-1349

618Connect does not evaluate or select content on the Internet. Users should be aware that some of the information on the Internet may be inaccurate and some of the sources may contain controversial and offensive text, images and/or sounds.

Users understand that as a parent or caregiver they are responsible for monitoring Internet use by children under their care. Users should be aware that the Internet may contain graphic material of a sexual or violent nature.

Users agree that 618Connect has the right to delete all data, files or any other information that is stored in the user's account.

As a 618Connect account customer, you are entitled to access to the World Wide Internet, 5 e-mail addresses and space for a 10 meg Personal Web Page.

We do not provide a dedicated connection to the Internet. We define a dedicated connection as being connected for more than 200 hrs in a 30 day monthly cycle. If you use the service as dedicated, we reserve the right to inform you that we may no longer service your account. We are a consumer service, and not designed for people who require an "always on" or an unattended connection.

Users agree to allow provider to force a 15 minute idle timeout and 5 hour maximum session on their dial-up account. Attempts to defeat the idle timer using a ping bot or system tool, or the use of a redialer to automatically reconnect once disconnected is prohibited. Inactivity is defined as less than 500 bytes of data transferred between User's modem and the service.

The right to use the Service is not transferable. Accounts are for User's use only. User shall be responsible for the confidentiality of User's password. Loaning User's account to others, connecting a system used by multiple persons, group use of user log-ins, and consuming more than one modem line are explicitly prohibited. If User has multiple accounts, then User shall be limited to one log-in session per system account at any time.

Monthy charges are due (in our possession) on the 1st day of each month. Payment may be made by mailing to 618Connect, P.O. Box 54, Jerseyville, IL 62052. Accounts not paid by the 5th will result in cancellation of the connection. A re-connection/late fee of $5.00 and the month's charges must be paid before being reconnected. There will be a charge of $20.00 for a returned check. We reserve the right to change pricing of services at any time.

A customer may request to have their subscription rate moved to a lower account rate if they have been using the lower account's usage for the previous 4 months.

All billing and technical questions related to your internet service are to be made to 800-497-1349 This service is free to our customers.

618Connect technical service is limited to assisting you in maintaining the connection to 618Connect. Any service, hardware or repairs to a customer's computer is the responsibility of the customer. Individual arrangements may be made by the customer with a repair service and charges payable to the service provider selected by the customer.

The customer personal account entitles only the customer to use of the internet connection. Logins and passwords are not to be given out to others. The customer is responsible to not allow others to use such personal information. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in disconnection. Only one login is to be used at a time unless a second one is paid for.

Users are personally liable for any use of their account not in accordance with 618Connect's Terms of Use Policy. Users further understand that they are a guest on this system and if they do not abide by the rules and conditions governing the use of this system, their privileges may be restricted or terminated and they will forfeit any money paid.
